EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Due to the need to download large audio files, you will need high speed, reliable internet. For compatibility reasons you must have, or have access to, a PC (desktop or laptop) running an operating system no older than Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365, also please note that we strongly advise against the use of Apple/Mac computers as often the document being returned is rarely compatible with ours or our clients and often there are difficulties in playing some file types.
Contractors need to be able to produce transcripts from a large range of audio recordings with variable audio quality. In general, we find that a set of good quality noise reducing headphones and a quiet environment, provides optimum audio quality. We usually have these in stock. however you can of course source your own.

It is also recommended that you use Express Scribe Professional (due to the different audios we use) and a transcription foot pedal (no use of hot keys as the error rate is too high) as this is the main audio player we use. We have foot pedals in stock as well, however you can get these most places, just ensure they are compatible with Express Scribe.

HOW AM I PAID?

Weekly, per minute of audio transcribed. What you can earn is variable dependent on your accuracy and speed. You need to invoice us before Thursdays.

INSTANT TEST

Due to the enormous number of applications we receive daily, we now have a short online test to ascertain if you would be a suitable transcriptionist or auditor, whether you can follow instructions and if you have an eye for detail.

You get one chance at this test.

Our test takes around 45 minutes maximum to complete. It will cover punctuation, grammar and a quick 4 minute typing test, so please do allow the time to be uninterrupted whilst taking it. The audio is in mp4 so you will need to be able to open that format. Please do not email us directly to apply as this test is imperative for us to ascertain whether you are a suitable candidate.

In the typing test, if you are unable to work out what is being said, a time stamp in the format of (0:04:12) is the requirement. We expect you to research unfamiliar words. There are two speakers, John and Jacinda Arden, please identify each speaker using J: and JA:.

Passing the test does not constitute an instant offer of employment or training at this time. You may be added to our recruitment pool for our overflow team.

Do not email us asking about your test. You can expect a response within 5 working days. Please check your spam/junk folders during this time.
Best of luck.
