What do I need to know?
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Due to the need to download large audio files, you will need high speed, reliable internet. For compatibility reasons you must have, or have access to, a PC (desktop or laptop) running an operating system no older than Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365, also please note that we strongly advise against the use of Apple/Mac computers as often the document being returned is rarely compatible with ours or our clients and often there are difficulties in playing some file types.
Contractors need to be able to produce transcripts from a range of audio recordings with variable audio quality. In general, we find that a set of good quality noise reducing headphones and a quiet environment, provides optimum audio quality.

It is also recommended that you use Express Scribe Professional and a transcription foot pedal (no use of hot keys as the error rate is too high) as this is the main audio player we use.

** Please note that you must commit to at least 4 hours of audio per week (this equates to approximately 15 -20 hours of typing depending on your speed and efficiency).

HOW AM I PAID?

Weekly, per minute of audio transcribed. What you can earn is variable dependent on your accuracy and speed.
